Recorded network experiment / default Signet

A confirmed Workshop round-trip

One funded input, three equal recipients and change, then one return output. Every destination belonged to the same operator.

The result

Workshop funding
9000 sats
Returned to source wallet
7964 sats
Total fees, including funding
1298 sats
Workshop wallet remaining
0 sats

The authorization allowed at most 10,000 Signet test sats. The funding payment plus its fee debited 9262 sats from the source wallet; the consolidation returned 7964 sats. The net cost was 1298 sats, all fees. No mainnet coins or third-party recipients were involved.

What actually ran

The public Workshop constructed both unsigned PSBTs. Its browser output was compared byte-for-byte with the pinned engine. The external bridge exported confirmed wallet inputs, displayed every output and fee, requested transaction-specific signing approval, signed in the node wallet, and ran testmempoolaccept. A separate command requested broadcast approval and submitted those same bytes once.

Transaction Doctor inspected the unsigned split PSBT as missing signatures with a 406-sat fee. Its explicit public lookup then fetched the broadcast transaction and measured 203 vB, while correctly leaving the fee unknown: raw transaction bytes alone did not supply the previous output amount. Neither browser result was presented as a node-validation verdict.

The live node was Bitcoin Inquisition 29.2.0 (/Satoshi:29.2.0(inquisition)/), a Bitcoin Core-derived implementation, not vanilla Bitcoin Core 29.0.0. The funding and return wallet ran LND 0.20.1-beta commit=v0.20.1-beta. The bridge checked the exact default-Signet challenge and named wallet before signing and broadcasting. The narrower vanilla Core 29 regtest recording remains a separate result.

1. Fund the Workshop wallet

The source LND wallet paid 9,000 sats to the dedicated node wallet and retained its change.

2. Split one input into four outputs

Three recipients received 2,000 sats each. The remaining value became change after the 406-sat fee.

Conservative estimate, measured fee

Workshop fees were chosen at 2 sat/vB using conservative witness sizes. The split measured 203 vB, equal to the rounded estimate, so its actual rate was exactly 2 sat/vB. Smaller signatures can reduce weight without reducing the rounded virtual size; the tables show both estimated and measured sizes. The fee stays exactly input value minus output value.

A recoverable funding timeout

The initial funding request timed out at the client but finished in the funding wallet, reserving an input without broadcasting. The reservation was inspected and explicitly released before a new PSBT was funded with that specific input. Its final transaction, change ownership, fee, and mempool acceptance were checked before submission. A timeout was not treated as proof that nothing happened.

Reproduce the checks

The evidence file includes unsigned PSBTs, construction options, public prevouts, signed bytes, recorded mempool results, block headers, and transaction-inclusion proofs. The offline checker reproduces both Workshop PSBTs and verifies the recorded transaction ledgers, sizes, IDs, chain links, and block-header hashes. It does not contact a node or independently establish current chain membership.

For a new network run, follow the external wallet guide with your own confirmed Signet inputs and addresses. The published inputs are already spent. Never fund the recorded addresses; this report does not authorize any further transfers.

Limits

This is one authorized P2WPKH Workshop round-trip, not an audit of arbitrary transactions or scripts. Confirmation can change after a reorg. It does not establish Workshop support for hardware wallets, custom signets, Taproot inputs, multisig, or automatic fee rescue. The separate LND funding transaction spent a Taproot input; the Workshop bridge signed only P2WPKH inputs. Private keys, wallet backups, authentication material, and unrelated wallet history are excluded.
